Dynamo's Regulars
DJ FOG
He plays music so eclectic it hurts! He's no smooth operator, in a blink he can move from a hot latin percussion shuffle to an obscure garage rock classic and then without warning spin the wonkiest disco track he has ever heard. And he's got a soft spot too!

ESKO ROUTAMAA
The longest staying resident at Dynamo, Esko has spinned upstairs fortnightly right from the beginning. That's eight years in a row! He's still blending soul & funk of all ages with jazz as well as more modern stuff and occasionally dips into a little bit of pop & rock music too.

Spanish dj Invasion!
Djs YOLAPONGO & CAR
POP. We were born with it, we grew up with it and we will live with it the rest of our lives. Altogether we have ten years of experience entertaining people with our POP music and attitude: Dj Car has played 8 years and Dj Yolapongo two. When "Confetti " (Alicante), the place where we two started our Dj careers, opened its doors every Thursday, Friday and Saturday people could immediately realise our long lived life with IT only by entering the place. Dj Car was sharing his talent for one year by playing in Confetti and "Artea", a disco in the heart of Alicante. Dj Yolapongo played also in other clubs in Alicante from time to time: in "Voodoo Pop Club" for a couple of months and in "La Noche" as a resident Dj for a year, and as a guest in different places like "Fraguel Pop" in Albacete.
We play all kinds of pop, from the 60's to the future, from emo pop to electro pop. We like to see people dancing with New Order but we LOVE to see them dancing with new songs that most people have not yet discovered about. So, one tip, if you only want to listen to old music... DON'T COME!!

RICARDO
Ricardo's style is very eclectic. His sets incorporate a huge variety of musical styles that somehow end up working on the dancefloor, but are usually not tracks you would expect to hear in your average club setting. He subtly combines his own unique taste with a steady flow of current floor-filler tracks while maintaining the groove of the party.
Ricardo says he likes to bring out new styles of music and describes his dj'ing as progressive, meaning that he is always open to new things. And whenever he's playing, he's doing it with feeling...and with love!

DJ SÄRMÄ (up to 2001 dj Torres)
Dj Särmä has been cruising upstream with an occasional shameless dip into the mainstream since 1993. In the 60’s mr. Särmä would’ve got a severe spanking from both mods and rockers ’coz on his turntable Wanda Jackson and the Small Faces play for the same team.
In Särmä’s books a near-perfect combination of styles would be his personal German heroes Stereo Total, for who else has managed to cram rockabilly, French chanson, garage punk, pop, electro and disco onto the same record. This questionable means to success is also Särmä’s recipe in the deejay booth. So get up on the good foot und tanzen gehen!
Some of dj Särmä’s former club residencies:
Tuhti (2000)
Moroder (2003)
Hellsinki Heat (2003-)
- **** DJ SÄRMÄ'S TOP-11 ****
(with an extra nr. 3. just for you) (20.2.2007) - 1. Pop Levi: Blue Honey (single, '07)
- Totally shameless, T-Rex meets New York circa '79 in a garage from Ladytron founder - 2. Matti Johannes Koivu: Kiitokset (album track, '07)
- Romantic, nostalgic pop in the vein of Prefab Sprout that puts my heart pounding. Off his second album which after half a dozen spins remains a massive disappointment. I'm getting worried. - 3. Traffic Sound: Meshkalina (single, '69)
- Perouvian latin psych rock. They had the strangest sound. Very hip, very dancefloor. - 3. Black Devil Disco Club (artist)
- Strange, irresistible French synth disco from way back and here again - 4. Clinic: Visitations (album, '06)
- Grim, nagging garage punk rock from England - 5. Emperor Machine: Vertical Tones And Horizontal Noise (series of six 12" singles)
- Dr. Who meets Yellow Magic Orchestra - 6. Sci-Fi SKANE (gig, 06)
- A unique experience. Part karaoke, part cover, all highly original. Very entertaining dancefloor quirkiness. And with a totally charismatic front guy that's Thomas from bob hund. You're left unsure if they're taking the piss, though. The kids bought it and loved it. Who else covers Fun Boy Three? - 7. Dungen: Tio bitar (album, due out late spring)
- I won't put this at #1 since I haven't heard it yet. But I will. - 8. Beats & Styles: See The Signs (Eurovision qualifiers)
- A bunch of psychotic chickens thrown out on a football field with an urban Matti Nykänen as lead singer. Such a shame they didn't make it to represent us. - 9. Noonday Underground: Put You Back Together (album track, '06)
- Great new sample-based stuff from this old pal. Like Julie Driscoll with an English '68 freakbeat backing band - 10. Amy Winehouse (career move)
- All of a sudden she comes out a stone cold fox!
SAMI HÄIKIÖ aka ODJ Saimi
I just love Dynamo. And the city around it. So much I had to move here. I've seen the parties at Dynamo since the beginning and I've seen many parties elsewhere. When I play records at Dynamo, I do it quite much the same way I do my weekly radioshow on Radio Helsinki, called 952 GTi. It means everything from pop to punk, from electronica to hiphop and from country to rock. Whatever it happens to feel like.
BIG JIM
Big Jim is a man who grows at least 20 centimeters when he's behind turntables, and then you can expect to hear tunes varying from deep funk to disco and jazz. He's such a swift mover he can sometimes be spotted dj'ing and grooving on the dancefloor simultaneously! His special routine is to spin himself at 450 rpm.
MR. BURNS
Mr. Burns started his active career of supporting the oil business in 1998 as a hardcore electro purist playing records at places long since ravaged by bulldozers. Sometimes they even came during his sets! So he had to move on and having broadened his taste and selection ever since, he's nowadays playing chiefly soul, funk, hip hop and reggae. But you never really know.
